So I have a galaxy s9, and it will not make or take calls. Outgoing calls instantly drop and incoming calls go straight to voice-mail. Cellular network is not the issue bc my husband has the exact same phone and his can make and take calls in the same room and anywhere else. I've already checked airplane mode... it's off. I've checked all my settings and there doesn't seem to be any settings that would say to not make calls.

So, any suggestions? Do some phones just die in this area or something? Something else i should check? Or what type of person would I take it to to see if they can fix it, as last resort.

First question, do you periodically turn your phone off and back on to re-establish a connection?

Next, check with your cellular provider to check your account settings.

If those two don't resolve the issue, you may need a new SIM card in the problem phone since the other phone isn't having the same issue.

I would try swapping SIM cards in the two identical phones to see how that works.

I dont shut my phone off often but I have restarted it a few times to see if it made a difference, and it doesn't. I'll have to take it into cricket and see what they say and if a new sim works.

Best wishes, keep us updated on your results to see if it gets resolved or not.

Just to mention, when I worked for At&t customer service, we ran into this type of issue occasionally. Usually, we were able to reset the profile (which tower the phone connected to) when it tried to connect to a different tower that was out of range. Not normal, but stuff happens.
