We'd appreciate any recommendations for builders for backyard porch & deck. We're in Mount Pleasant. We know the names & reps of a few large builders but don't want overkill.

Have you tried 'Angie's list', you can usually get reviews and referrals on the website online. I think you get to try it before they ask you to become a member.

He was referred to me by a friend (he did a bathroom overhaul for her among other things). He completed a siding and window job on my house, finished some interior work that needed to be done, on my rental he did the wood laminate and replaced some windows. I referred him to my mom and he did a front porch for her which looks fantastic! I can't recommend him highly enough. Super honest guy, extremely reliable, high quality work with reasonable prices. I couldn't be happier to have found someone I can call on to do almost everything I need done that I can trust to not rip me off and will always do a great job. Having that, I've found, it pretty invaluable as a homeowner.
Be careful who you use. Last year my mom found a builder for her back deck on Craigslist. HORRIBLE experience.

I'd love to hear who you go with and why. Jeff and I plan on adding a screened in porch to our existing patio as well, sometime in the near future.
