IMO a high end steakhouse for instance, is somewhere that's tough to get out of for under $200/person. Don't know if there are any of those around here though.

Doesn't it depend on where you live, what you eat and, I think, most importantly -- what you drink?!

I think when Jeff and I ate at The Oak Steakhouse with drinks, tips, etc.. our bill was about that. It's not our GOAL to spend $200 on dinner, but it happens sometimes.
I meant excluding tips... I've seen them run 160+ for just the steak alone in larger cities. There are lots of great upper-mid places here though.
Because a place will charge that in 'some' cities doesn't make it high end (or worth it). What you pay in Chicago, NYC, for food isn't just about the food quality -- it's about the market.
Trust me, I've never had steak like what I had at that place... it was the best I've ever had. Wish I knew how the did it.
Our favorite nice place to go between here, San Antonio and Seattle was Brasserie Pavil - a French place near where we lived in San Antonio. Pricewise it was just a hair below High Cotton, but unfortunately it's closed now. Found that out just now when looking them up so I would spell the name correctly.
