We're going to be moving into the area where Wagener Terrace borders near Hampton Park. What kind of critters can we maybe expect to find snooping around? I suspect opossums and raccoons, and of course squirrels (spotted plenty of those). But, should we be cautious of venomous snakes? What about rabid animals? (Brooklyn has a lot of rabid raccoons going around, believe it or not.)

A few drunk CofC coeds barfing in the gutters is about the worst wildlife you will see.

Not too many snakes in the downtown area, if you venture out away from there into the forest you will find all kinds....

We actually do not have a lot of Rabid Racoons and Opossum in the area, probably due to the high population density of rednecks like me that take every oportunity to Choot em....

ahef71,
so what did you think of the CD answers & depictions of the area versus what you actually saw? Just curious here.

Lived there for 8 years. You shouldn't see anything aside from squirrels, someone's dog or cat who got out overnight, and a random raccoon now and then.

Thanks all. Yeah, I'd prefer to not have rats... grubby boogers. Chipmunks are welcome, tho. Squirrels are approved by my dogs.

@joyeaux - Everyone pretty much nailed it on seeing what was described, neighborhood wise. I will say that I was pleasantly surprised to not see a business district of a bunch of tall glass and steel. Coming into the city was a quiet entry, since it's right thru an industrial area. Kinda nice how it's tucked away like that and then opens up into this beautiful town. We're very excited!
