Hi all. My husband and I are trying to gather information about family oriented, safe, good schools, close to shopping, close to a military installation neighborhoods, perferably in Goose Creek area but also Summerville as I have noticed they are pretty close together. We have 2 high school aged children. We are a interacial couple not that, that should matter but wanted to throw that in there. Currently we are looking into Crowfield Plantation, could anyone give us any information they can about this area. Other places we have peeked at are Corey Woods, Foxborough, and Sangaree. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated Thanks!!

Crowfield IS in Berkeley County but the High School is Stratford and is actually (practically) in Crowfield.

You can't do much better school wise than that without paying for it from my understanding. Nearby private high schools would be BE and Pinewood.

Foxborough is close to Crowfield and would also have your kids at Stratford. The homes in Crowfield seem larger but you can probably expect to pay a bit more (maybe). I live not far from there but don't let that sour your opinion too much .

I assume you want a military installation nearby for commissary purposes etc. There is one on the weapons station about 10-15 minutes (depending on traffic and your driving habits) down Red Bank Rd.

Depending on your budget, I'd look in Crowfield. It's a little (30 seconds or so) closer to school for the kids and the homes in some of the neighborhoods can be nicer (like the Hamlets).

I would steer clear of Sangaree.

Wescott Plantation is in Summerville on the North Charleston line and is in the Dorchester District 2 schools that have a very good reputation. The Joint Base Charleston commissary is about 6 minutes away

Crowfield Plantation is an amazing neighborhood. Walking/jogging path, lakes, golf course, etc. Well worth checking into, and plenty of homes for sale in all price ranges it seems. Should be able to find whatever you're looking for in that neighborhood. You need to tour it in person to really get a feel for it, but it's hard to beat in the Goose Creek area.
