Good, bad or otherwise - mainly interested in quality of the home and energy efficiency, as well as customer service - i.e., how easy are they to work with, how good are they at responding to problems, and do they do what they say they will do?
Does anyone know if any of these builders or others in Charleston will buy your lot from you and do the construction and then sell it back to you? I've heard some builders will do that and then you can avoid having to get a construction loan. I'm trying to learn more about the process of buying land and building since my husband and I aren't finding anything we like already built or in a development being built by one company. Any help or insight on the process of buying land and getting a custom builder is appreciated!
what the builder will typically do is have you subordinate the lot to them and they will in turn float the construction loan etc. I believe Weekly has a program to do something like this.

Yep.
Several of the national builders offer "build on you lot" programs
I currently have David Weekley building my new home. No complaints. Very professional.
Brasqo,
How was your building experience with David Weekly? We are excited, getting ready to sign with them under their build on your lot program but by now have read so many horror stories online from other states that it makes us queasy. Appreciate any input.
