Yes moneill! Mt Pleasant definitely needs more independent restaurants. Preferrably ones that also use local ingredients.
Yeah, they do. For all the attention Mt. Pleasant gets, I really feel like West Ashley has been locally owned, independent restaurants.
Nothing wrong with Zaxby's, it's always good to see any business move in. It means jobs for people (yes, I know it's low paying, but it works for high school students, college, people wanting a second job, etc) and more options. But yeah... nothing really competes when places use local ingredients.
Whoa now wait a minute -- West Ashley has its fair share of chains as well.
West Ashley is older than Mt. Pleasant as a settling spot for those not available to live in the Peninsula.....so yes it has some older, indepdent restaurants.
Speaking of independents -- anyone ever have breakie at the Sea Biscuit on Isle of Palm. We've had a few good breakies there.
I still believe in the town of Mt. Pleasant there are more independent restaurants than chains. Whether those restaurants use local ingredients may be a different story.. that's up to the owner.
I would still trade a Zaxby's for Raising Canes. Personally I would rather have a chain resturant in a commercial area like Towne Center. Keep the independents in more picturesque places.
All the talk of a Cheesecake Factory in MtP has been a complete fail. I bought into the CF coming into to old Guy Harvey restaurant.
Anyone know why 17 North Roadside Kitchen closed aside from the overpriced and limited menu? :-)
