We spent 4 days driving around, surfing the web, calling realtors and looking for a place to rent with no luck. Ultimately, we ended up in Greenville. We'll be back to visit for sure now that we are closer. Thank you to all that have been so helpful with the wonderful info that you provided about your area.

Did you not find one that fit your tastes or there was nothing available?

Had to be taste...or something else is going on. Maybe too expensive? I would guess Greenville is a good bit cheaper.

It wasn't taste. In my budget, the rentals which were available had several applicants. We also were looking for a 6 month or less lease and almost all would only do 1 yr minimum. We wanted to buy a house and didn't want to be stuck for a year. Then, we have 2 large dogs which caused another issue.

I guess all things happen for a reason. We still will visit when we can.

You picked the worst time to look for an apt for aug and sept due to schools starting. As a landlord for my condo in MtP, I had it rented out within a week at 200 dollars more a month from previous tenant in June. The market is hotter as it ever been in the last 6 years for leases. I suggest winter months to look.

You couldn't be more right. Well our lease in Greenville is 6 months. We'll see how we like it. We can always try again then if things don't work out there.
