We are without electricity. Couldn't even get out of driveway with all the downed trees. Hope everyone is safe. Downed Power lines every where.

Don't worry.

Governor Haley said next time a winter storm hits, we're just gonna take our guns out and shoot it.

You can't really prevent the trees from falling...

No, but you can get them cleared quickly.

But, that would require a well funded DOT, one that has plenty of staffing, equipment and training BEFORE big storms. But that requires revenue.

Oh well.....lets just try shooting the storm

Quickly is a relative term. Let me guess, you have how many snow suits to prepare for winter storms?

I'm noticing a pattern with your posts today. Maybe time for a nap?

Snow suit? None. Its not Alaska, its South Carolina. A simple layer of two sweatshirts is plenty. Our snowstorms are petty. Which makes me wonder how the state DOT can be so bad that it cant handle a snowstorm that, by national standards, is not a big deal.

Overwhelmed our small government obviously. But shouldn't have.

Basically, "small government" sounds great, and it works....right up to the point that we need a competent, efficient government to respond.

Basically, people wanna pay for the government they need/want TODAY. Not the one they might need in 2 years.

Most of the public doesn't have foresight. Propose a slight tax increase to increase salt trucks and it will get voted down.

Complain when the Ravened is closed, but then complain when it's open too early

I lived in a city on the top 7 list with the most snow per year and everything here with the storms has made sense and was reasonable considering.

Ice storms are the worst anywhere. We had one in 1991 in NY and some people didn't have power for a week.

Some folks are not happy unless they're not happy.

I call them zenophobes.

Yep. And in July, if they propose funding for more DOT training, funding, equipment, the very same people stuck on 526 now will oppose it.
