Hi Everyone,

I have a friend who is looking around the Village Green area - looked really nice and well-maintained. Shadowmoss looked tired and not well kept up.

Just wondering if anyone is familiar with the area and can give me any knowledge on type of residents who live there, safety, etc.

or...any suggestions for similar single family smaller home communities outside Charleston.

Thanks!!

Just be aware that traffic will be a constant headache in either of those places. I know a lot of people who live out there and that is their #1 complaint.

Thanks Ink. My friend is retired so she would not need to worry so much about the traffic scene. Mostly wondering what that area is like...looks pretty enough, especially being near the plantations. There is a "dead zone" on 61 right before there though which was a little disconcerting. We also noticed the Bees Ferry connector widening going on - hoping that will take some edge off?

Traffic is really a mess in Village Green and Shadowmoss .

Honestly, I would recommend Grand Oaks or Hunt Club for location, unless you're toward the front of Shadowmoss with the Bees Ferry entrance (in which you have easy access to Bees Ferry Rd). Carolina Bay is another development in West Ashley, outside 526, and there are very nice homes there as well.

The Bees Ferry widening is going well... finally... and we are in need of a 4 lane road. However, Village Green's entrance on 61 is not being widened so that area will still be pretty backed up.
