Being that this guy was educated enough to sport two flags from African nations when they were still under colonial rule, I wouldn't doubt that he was at that particular church because one of its founders was Denmark Vesey, who planned a massive slave insurrection in Charleston 193 years ago this month.

Mayor Riley has been spewing this bs this morning too. Lemme get this straight, we "ban" the 2nd amendment. Then ONLY criminals have guns. That sounds much more reasonable.
Had the pastor or someone in his flock been armed, maybe 9 don't die. Trying to ban guns is just silly, and has been proven to lead to more violence (see Chicago and DC).
The 2nd Amendment and Americans ridiculous and short sighted obsession with it is the problem, it's not BS. Banning guns has been done in other countries to great effect. See Japan as an example. Yes, at this point with 500 million guns in circulation, it's probably too late.

Again, the NRA talking point of arming pastors, teachers, etc. Clearly not proven to prevent mass murders and can only lead to more accidental/reactive shootings.
The 2nd amendment no longer applies in today's society. I'd much rather promote peace than guns.
NBC News just reported that he's from Lexington. He had a recent address in Eastover and, besides White Knoll High School in the Red Bank area, he went to school in Richland One schools. On the surface it sounds like maybe he had some significant instability in his upbringing.
