Can anyone tell me if The Best friend of Charleston is back home yet or when it's due to return?

I saw The Best Friend of Charleston the other day when I was visiting the Children's Museum. We were leaving and I saw it through a window as I was walking by. It was displayed behind the Visitor's Center beside the Children's Museum.

One replica is on display here, and another in Columbia.

Yep...there was one in Atlanta and one in Columbia. The Atlanta replica is the one that came to Charleston a couple of months ago. The one in Columbia still remains in the state museum.

Wow, they'll try to move Charleston up there if they could.

So why didn't they just build the state museum in Charleston? Would have saved a lot of money. Who goes to Columbia anyway. Politicians and football fans; not necessarily the intellect.

Old post I know. So when is the Hunley going to be moved to a permanent site downtown Charleston. Or is it going to stay in North Charleston?
