Maybe.

A grocery store chain is trying to pull permits to open a grocery store next to the post office on Dorchester Road.

It's unlikely to be Publix, Harris Teeter or Walmart, so that leaves Lowe's Foods or Lidl.

In the old BiLo center?

Or in that run down mess of a place that the post office is in.

Sounds like it will be the complex of the post office according the OP above.

Both shopping complexes need a tear down and a rebuild.

Agreed. Those two are probably the last two commercial eye sores in Summerville.

The square footage of the rumored grocery store and the inclusion of a pharmacy drive thru are two strong indications of projecting which grocery participant may be preparing for another store.

Oh they are, with a 3rd one being across the street where the Aldi got built.

Absolutely the one the post office is in. The Oakbrook Square Shopping Center. It's located in unincorporated Dorchester County.

Dorchester Village is mostly in the Town of Summerville, but the town line goes up and around the Oakbrook Square shopping center. Odd, I know.
