Are any of you guys fed up with the "personal pizza" restaurants that charge almost the same price as a large pizza but you get a very thin crust small pizza with these laser thin slices of ingredients on it? Also, they don't offer a large pizza as an option.

I look at the ingredients and I'm thinking they must have less than 2 dollars worth of ingredients on them at most. Very sparse and underwhelming. A large $25 pizza can easily feed 4 people but with a personal pizza at $16 x 4 you are now at $64 and you don't even get robust slices. Luckily there is still Andolinis, Mellow Mushroom and Johns Island Pizza. What great pizza places do you guys like that have real pies?

I like Paisano's on James Island. Close to a real NY style.

Orlando Brick Oven on Daniel Island has the 'truest' NY style I've had in the area. Very good and real pies.

Amalfi's in mt.pleasant has some really good pizza and pretty big. Also its this place downtown called new york which is also the same. Matts pizza is really good also but sizes can be a lil iffy. But all taste like true northern pizza

Paisano's is good. They also have a location in West Ashley at 61 and 7 but I've never gone to that one. I stop in the James Island location on Tuesday's if I'm over that way for the $6 calzone special.

Does the Paisono's on JI have seating ? My wife said the west ashley one seemed to have very little seating. Mellow Mushroom and Andolinis have tons of seating which is nice. I'm retiring Dec 30th so I'll have more time to test pizza parlors. :-)

James Island has plenty of seating. I think the one in WA used to be an Athens Express pizza place.
