Our family lives about 2 hours away from Charleston and we love it. We are thinking of moving and what like it very much if you would be able to suggest a family friendly place we could rent for a while and a good school. Where we live now, traffic is not an issue. We just got a Walmart in our snail town last year! Thanks!

You can start with most areas in summerville, west Ashley. If you have $$$ then mt.pleasent. All pretty much have good schools. Traffic of course will be an issue snice you are not use to it but will learn what times to travel if you can prevent it. What is your budget and what is your idea area

Where we live now, our house payment is $715. We were thinking of renting our house out for a year and renting. I’m not sure how much rent would go for in West Ashley or Summerville. I would like to stay as low as I could go without compromising the area too much.

Rent is high in Summerville, and probably higher in WA. Check rentals on realtor.com or craigslist. Not sure what size or kind of rental you need (house, apt., mobile home), if you have pets etc. so research what is listed and ask about neighborhoods if you find something.

I'm afraid $715 won't rent much in the way of a house in Charleston. You would likely have to pay much more for anything in a good school district. As BSJSAS said, look over rental prices on Zillow and similar sites and see if what might fit your budget.

Went around summerville runs $800 and up for 1 bed room. Thats around the norm in the area. Anything less than that then it could be iffy. If you search and find something for less than 750 or so you can always come on here and ask and someone will know the area and/or thr apt you are looking at

Mount Pleasant schools are awesome. At least that’s what everybody moving here from everywhere else is telling me.

We are here visiting now, not sure where to start looking for an apartment. I checked out Hibben Ferry, it seemed but it was on a Sunday and didn’t get to see the apartment. Finding a good middle school is my main concern.

Is the above poster claiming Mount Pleasant schools are not good?
