If you're looking for a Brewery on Dorch Road, look no further than the Holy City Brew Pub. They've got a new chef in their Kitchen and lunch with a microbrew to wash it down is a real treat. It's also fun if the landing pattern is bringing those C-17's in right overhead......watching those big birds coming in low and slow is an experience.

Yeah that would be a dream. I think they could draw crowds. Breweries are very family friendly and I feel like there are lots of families with young children itching for a casual place to go out in that area.

Fermentory part two would also be cool, they have great beer.

I second the fact that the best local Q is up at The Rodney Scott’s BBQ in Hemingway. The Charleston location is a lot closer but just not the same. Swig & Swine also just opened a location just across the new bridge on Highway 41. Lewis is way overpriced, no table service and entirely too much dry rub on the Brisket.

Shulers bbq up near Latta (north of Florence) is good.

If you want some classic bbq like Scott’s, Sweatmans in holly Hill is really good. The banana pudding is amazing

Sweatmans USED to be good before the kids got a hold of the place and started messing with the quality.

For those interested, I'm told that today (Saturday 7/7) they have set up a tent at the Old Trolley Road location and are sellin' the good stuff. All proceeds today will go to the owner's of that location, to help cover expenses over the next 6 months.

If you value S & S on Old Trolley, show your support !!

Update as of 8/31

The Swig & Swine on Old Trolley is having another pop-up sale of the good stuff on Saturday 9/1.....you can check their facebook page for the hours they will be there. This will be take-away only while their building is being repaired.

The last few pup-ups were well supported and the proceeds are going towards their underemployed wait staff (and not to the owners).
