Will be camping at James Island County Park next month. Can anyone recommend a good, casual restaurant that allow seating with a dog either near the campground or in Charleston?

Thanks.

Is your dog named Baci ?? So is ours, a Pomeranian.

Will you have small car in tow to get around town ?? You'll find plenty of dog-friendly places...just google. Just name your favorite food group and I'm sure you'll get recommendations on here.

Gilley's Seafood is good, so is the Maybank Public House. Might be worth a drive out to Seabrook for the Salt Water Cafe -- good Seafood, Music on the Patio, and spectacular sunsets.

Enjoy your visit !!

Thanks FiveLoaves! Baci was our first dog (a chocolate lab). We are now on our 3rd dog, a black & tan coonhound mix named Penny.

And yes, we'll have our truck to tow the camper. We're coming from NY and heading down for our son's Marine graduation on PI. Maybe we'll go to Seabrook our last night when we're staying in Port Royal!

First of all, thank you to your son for his Service to our country. Semper Fi.

Things are open down here, but the Restaurants all claim it's hard to find help in the kitchen or the waitstaff. Call ahead to see if reservations are needed at some of these places.

Do you like BBQ ?? Look into Duke's on Folly Road, over near the county park. Also, California Dreaming is nice for waterfront dining.

I hope you enjoy your stay in the Lowcountry.

Bohemian Bull and Lowdown have dog-friendly patio seating. Both are on Folly Road between the camp ground and Folly Beach.

Edit: In fact, I just googled “dog-friendly restaurants on James Island” and got those two and Maybank Public House on Maybank Highway as the first three. For beer, snacks, and a really fun time for the dog, check out the Barrel on Folly Road.

A new Italian experience is coming to 88 Broad Street. A restaurant with highly credentialed professionals and backers is about to open. It’s called Sorelle.

Sorry, but that's an overpriced Italo-American restaurant, nothing more than that. Not even in Miami, for authentic Italian, you have those prices.

They aren’t worried. The scene there might be ‘mo Italy’ than you’re used to in Miami.

Sorry but their menu does not impress me. How can it be called Italian when I do not see one veal dish?
