I grew up in NJ, it had nothing to do with the mafia, Ocean City went stayed dry after Prohibition to maintain a 'family friendly' environment.....

I guess that the 18 towns in Mass are full of affluent influential right wing fanatic Christian conservatives too....

What about these towns in NY a hotbed of affluent influential right wing fanatic Christian conservatives:

In 2007, referendums were placed on the ballots of two dry and two moist towns, asking the voters to allow the towns to become "wet". Potter, which was previously dry, voted to go wet. Mina, which was moist, voted to go wet. Bovina, which was previously dry, voted to become moist. Franklin, which was moist, voted to stay moist.[70]
After this latest vote, there remain ten towns in New York state that are completely dry, including Neversink, established 1798, in Sullivan County.[71]
The other "dry" towns in the state are: Caneadea in Allegany County, Clymer and Harmony in Chautauqua County, Lapeer in Cortland County, Orwell in Oswego County, Fremont and Jasper in Steuben County, Berkshire in Tioga County and Argyle in Washington County.[70]
The town of West Almond, New York does not allow off-premises consumption, while the towns of Freedom, Hartford, Franklin, Seneca, Caton, Rathbone, Newark Valley, Butler, Rose, Pike, Wethersfield and Middlesex do not allow on-premises consumption.[70]
The towns of Essex, Bovina, Gorham, Richford, Orangeville, and Barrington do not allow on-premises consumption except in year-round hotels.

I'm confused, Ole Tom Cat. When you say "family friendly environment"... is that like a clever way of saying; If you ain't with us (christians) then GTFO?

I NEVER said that, that is what the people of Ocean City NJ say, not me. I already said I am for selling liquor and beer 24/7.....

I was using the good people of NJ's dry town as an example....

There are also the 18 towns in Mass, and the ten towns in NY that are completely dry...

Ocean City, New Jersey is “America’s Greatest Family Resort” and because of that, it is a wonderful place for family reunions, group outings and of course, beach weddings! Our beaches, boardwalk, bay, Ferris wheels and amusement rides make beautiful backdrops for all your family photos.

This is from the official website for Ocean City:

Part of the original four’s wish that Ocean City remain a pure retreat that exemplified the Christian mindset still remains today as strong as the cedar tree they first met under. Ocean City is a dry town—there is no public drinking anywhere on the island. Residents and tourists alike seem to appreciate this law that sets the island apart from any of its surrounding towns.

Cool. Tell OC I'm on my way... to get sh**faced and stumble around their town... and pee on their historic cedar tree, in front of everybody. Because I have zero tolerance for puritanical fundamentalist christian mindset and squeaky clean family friendly environments.

Nah. Think I'll stick around Charleston for awhile. At least they sell beer 24/7. Wish I could say the same about hard liquor sales. And oh, I wanted to say I drove past our local liquor store today and noticed a large cardboard cut out Captain Morgan figure standing outside the store. So it seems the store owner is perhaps violating SC law by "advertising"? Hmm. Maybe I should contact the authorities. We can't have damned rum swilling pirates enticing our kids into a life of drunken debauchery!!
