Anyone else have one this month?

Charleston restaurants and attractions participating in the Be a Tourist program. Be a Tourist in Your Own Town for local tourism in Charleston, SC

We went to Middleton Place today, and we have already have passes to Charlestowne Landing/State Parks, The Children's Museum and Aquarium. So what are the other must sees for those exloring with young children in tow?

How about Cypress Gardens? Worth the drive? Drayton Hall? The Tea Plantation? We want to take advantage of this warm weather and visit a few this week. Any recommendations would be great!

Kind of a bad time for the gardens and the Tea Plantation nothing will be in bloom yet. Spring and summer it is definitley worth the drive.

How about the boat ride to Ft. Sumter? We did the tourist pass last year since it had been years since we've gone to most of these places and have never gone to a few others.

We did it last year so we won't be doing it again for a while. I see they added a ghost walking tour this year though, figures. The restaurant deals are pretty good too.

Must sees for kids are:

The Old Exchange and Provost Dungeon
Patriots Point Naval & Maritime Museum (aka the aircraft carrier)
North Charleston & American Lafrance Fire Museum & Educational Center
Cypress Gardens

I like touring the houses, but kids are usually bored. I like the Tea Plantation too, although there's not much to do unless you take a trolley tour which we didn't do. Inside the factory you watch videos about how tea is made but nothing will be working because it is out of season. The gift shop is nice and they have free brewed tea to drink.

The boat ride to Fort Sumpter from Patriot's Point is fantastic. A great view of the Ravenel Bridge and along the Charleston shoreline with it's churches and the Battery. Take the ride on a nice warm sunny day and go outside to the back of the boat with popcorn and feed the seagulls that will trail along...you and your kids will love it.
