From Mount Pleasant -- count on five hours to Lenox/Phipps Mall (considered the place to shop in Atlanta -- you name it -- its there). There is the Mall of Georgia in Buford that is about 20 miles north of Atlanta on I-85. It is a popular destination for folks from SC as evidenced by the number of SC plates in the parking lot.
Ignoring the usual playful banter so often seen providing colorful commentary here, I shop at both malls, depending on which one is convenient at the time. No fear. No worry.
Thank you, I agree! As for the variety of stores, I guess I am easily pleased and amused - give me a Belk, a Dillards, and a JC Penney and I'm good to go. Then again, I'm not a major shopper - one or two pairs of shoes, a couple of pairs of jeans, a few pairs of slacks, 2 or 3 blouses, sweaters, and skirts..and maybe one dress per year. And I do just fine at the stores I mentioned - to me, clothes and styles look pretty much the same from store to store. (and my first degree, before Education, was in Fashion Merchandising and Marketing!) I guess I'm just pretty basic.....
i used to get the impression the malls were bad before visiting them. especially being new to the area and then hearing about the shoots in WA. but honestly now I have been to both, and can say I don't feel the crime is so bad you will be in danger if you go. I presonally do not like hte citadel mall at all, they have no stores,a nd itis pretty lame inside. but the northwoods mall is in a safe area of N. Chas. and seems to be pretty clean and such. I prefer it to the citadel. BUt I woul drather go to MT P and go to the shopping center tthere which is like an outdoor mall..they have much more stores, it is much cleaner, and in a better area.
i went to tanger outlets today actually. the area seemed plenty safe. very new, not reall ymy thing, but safe enough. smelled gross like the paper mill though, i could not live near there. the colliseum is right accross the street, lots of shopping centers and hotels. i am sure there are areas around it which are not the best, but this area has been "designed" to be touristy.
Hmmm, I went there today too to return something and all I smelled was steak being grilled somewhere.
