I hear that Dorchester II schools are the best for Summerville. I have looked at houses in areas that say they are in Dorchester County, but am not sure if all of this area includes the schools or not as it seems to border other areas. Please educate me on this, and if you can please tell me the names of some Dorchester II schools so I will know what ot look for. Thanks.
Is there a specific age group you are looking for? Dorchester II is rated the best, but the taxes are higher. Berkely has the lowest taxes in the low country and it's school system is rumored to be improving. It may be a better option in the long run to send your kids to private school as Dorchester II area homes are more expensive and as I said before the taxes are higher. It may or may not pan out, but it is worth looking into.
Dorchester II Elementary schools include : Beech Hill, Flowertown, Newington, Summerville, Knightsville and a few others I can't remember. Summerville High is in DII and Gregg Middle. This is a PARTIAL list. There are others and maybe someone else can fill in my blanks.
Private school tuition can be quite high and the taxes in DII aren't so outrageous when compared to other states with good school districts.

Thanks. I doubt I would be intersted in private schools due to cost, and DII seem like they would be less problematic.
My granddaughter goes to Riverbend Christian Academy. The tuition isn't that bad.
