Maybe some of you can help with some street name information. Before the new bridge was built, the area of the city you had to travel through after getting off the East Bay (I think) exit was absolutely horrific. Places I wouldn't even want to drive in during the day, even if I was in an armored car and had a gun. Just scary! If I was leaving the downtown area, traveling up East Bay past Harris Teeter, alot of commercial blocks, past the projects, making a left and traveling a few blocks to get to the base of the bridge. What are the names of the streets in that area? I'm asking so I can sort by street names for rental listing. Thanks so much!

Area is known as the Eastside. Some of the streets are America, Nassau, Sheppard, Drake, South St, Line St, Hanover, Amherst, Columbus, Reid and Wall. Area is behind the old Cigar Factoiry, which is being converted to condos.

I thought I read somewhere that the old cigar factory area is changing for the better. I do know the building is being converted, can I assume that this is still a neighborhood I want to avoid?

The neighbor hood around the Cigar Factory is still the same, the Cigar Factory it self is changing, going to be its on self contained community.....

Very expensive also, especially for a view of the port or the local neighbor hood.....
