Anyone have any opinions?

Saw a house that peaked our interest, going to start contacting some people and maybe give it a serious look. Might end up being our first home.

Any opinions on Newington or Flowertown elementary schools? Its zoned for Newington...

Also anyone have any "local" advice in looking at Foreclosures?

I know the traffic will get a little rough, but its not the worst... I have gone to some of the stores over there after work during rush hour.

Boeing, day shift but eventually will be a rotating shift. I am not too concerned with the traffic I have seen it.

Ditto, on the good school/area opinions. Also purchasing a foreclosure is almost as straightforward as purchasing from a regular "homeowner". The bank is the owner of the home and may have a couple extra internal channels to go through, but you should be able to close in 30-45 days as long as your financing progresses smoothly. It may just take them a little longer to respond to offers. I've sent you a direct message with a document I prepared that outlines the home buying process.

I'd say that's a perfect area. Traffic isnt that bad. I live in that area and make the commute to the Air Force Base just fine. Don't have kids, but heard nothing but positive things about the schools in that area.

We have good credit, long history, nothing but student loan debt, and rough numbers with a "off the record pre approval" we can be preapproved for over double the cost of this house.
So things will go smooth its just my wife works contract through school systems right now.

I know several Boeing families that live in Newington Plantation. Personally, you couldn't pay me enough to go back and forth on Dorchester Road during the height of traffic every day, two times a day... especially with the construction that's starting between Bacon's Bridge Road and Old Trolley. Ugh. I go the opposite direction...

There's lots of Boeing families in Taylor Plantation, where I live (near Ashley Phosphate and Dorchester). Check it out... 20 mins. closer, and still in DD2 schools. Eagle Nest Elementary and River Oak Middle are right in the neighborhood (kids walk there) and are only a few years old.

Default Taylor Plantation

I saw your post from 2008 regarding the frequent flooding of Taylor Plantation. Did they ever fix that problem? We're looking to buy a house in that subdivision, but would like to know if this is still a recurring problem. Any info is appreciated!

You say 'day shift' ... so are you going in pre-sunup? Because if that's the case you will be sharing the road with me in the mornings ... lol ... LUCKY YOU!
