Looking for advice on private or semi-private clubs in the area. Looking for social golfing on a well maintained course that is friendly to newcomers. Thanks

Hands down the BEST deal, BEST people and the BEST prices is Charleston National! public course, pay $100/year for the VIP membership, and rounds of golf are only about $35 or so.....they have tons of clinics, the pros are great, they have two-fer Tuesdays Happy Hour and 9 holes, they have couples Fridays, they have groups that go away for weekend tourneys together...the womens clinic is awesom, Scott and Maryann are great and really do a good job of putting together lots of great golf outings and clinics.

Nobody mention Snee Farm? A great private club that is not too expensive near the geographic center of MtP.

I most certainly would have had I seen the post. FYI Snee Farm and Rivertowne are owned by the same person. Snee Farm is still private but Rivertowne remains open to the public.
