got lucky with the weather.. rained the day we got here and that was it
weather is 90's, 80's.. funny same back in NYC
each day driving and driving and going to some homes (model)
narrowing it down to Park West as we had thought
and 'maybe' Belle Hall
and last choice is Hamlin

knocked everything else out

we knocked out Rivertowne Wando and CC, though CC area had some nice homes... but the neighborhood did not hit us, but came close to really being a possibility
knocked out Brickyard, real nice but not for us
knocked out Darrell Creek.. though last year when here,,,, I left saying I liked it the best and my wife now who say it says the same,,, we would live there in a second... but too far out and not good for the boy, where we want some neighbors we hope he can play with their kids at somepoint. But both of us... Darrell Creek is the best area, house and landwise
Tomorrow is another day
Driving in and out of the various Park West neighborhoods we like

Sounds like you have found your place then, Jay got here last night, his plane was cancelled on Friday night! We are busy getting the house here ready to rent and the packers get here Tuesday!

Hope you get some time to enjoy some of the sights and don't end up needing another vacation after you get home to NYC

You can try any of the Residence Inns. There is one in N.Charleston by the airport (which may be the best option for where you are looking), one on the Ashley River close to DT and one in Isle of Palms just past Mt. Pleasant.

My husband is often sent all over the country for work, and is always put in the Marriott Residence Inn hotels. We have enjoyed every one of them except the North Charleston one, which had quite a few bugs. there is one by the airport that is very nice, and one in Mount Pleasant that is also a great place to stay. We're also relocating to the area soon, and expect to stay in the Mount Pleasant Residence Inn for at least two months. The two bedrooms suites are nice, with plenty of room for for an "extended stay". I also agree that finding a vacation rental is a great idea.

If you are open to staying at a Mt. Pleasant extended hotel, that would be my first recommendation. Very nice area!
