Howdy,

I will be moving to Charleston in the July to start a new job. I am looking for a place to find a rental, I would prefer a townhouse or a home/duplex, 2-3 bedroom and would like to pay under $1000. Is that reasonable and if so, where is the best place to look for them. I like James Island the areas around it. Thanks!

Try the link below to find apartments on James Island. James Towne Village is in your price range and right off of Folly Rd., so is close to everything. If you are not sure about the neighborhood or area of the apts. or townhouses, you can send me a direct message and I will be glad to give you an honest opinion (I have lived on James and Johns Islands for 26 years).

The link below will show you more apts. on James Island.

Chromekitty, those are on Sawgrass Lane/Rd. which is a safe area. Sawgrass Apts. and a subdivision are behind St. James Village....but about 1/2 mile behind it is Fleming Rd. which is definitely an area to stay away from. The apts. are quite separated from Fleming Rd., so it wouldn't be a problem.

Sawgrass comes out back by James Island Christian School.

They always have new rental properties come up. We rented our house through them and they are great.
