Hi, my husband and I are planning to move from New Hampshire to West Virginia primarily because I cannot handle the lack of sunshine up here anymore! However, now I am seeing online that West Virginia is one of the most overcast places in America and people suffer from depression because of it... is that the truth?

We are both from Kentucky and were looking for a place with a similar climate. Are we facing long strings of gray days?

Thanks for your help!

WV is not extremely overcast, but we are not a super sunny place either. I would say that there is a good balance between sunshine, clouds, rain, snow, etc... I would say very similar to Kentucky next door. Charleston would have more clouds than some because it is right in the path of usual storm routes. It's not New Hampshire by any means though in terms of climate, I live in Upstate NY now so I know the feeling.

Well, to be honest, it's almost always sunny in the summer and almost always overcast in the winter. That's a generalization to be sure, but that's what it seems like to me.
