Oh yes, morels are quite tasty. Me and my old neighbor would make scrambled eggs with ramps and morels, served with home made ponhaus or sausage.

Dang it I'm hungry again.

I'm not a big morel fan, but I find tons of them at work. If anyone is interested, and living in the Motown area, I can get a few pounds minimum this season. This isn't a sale post, I'd be happy to have someone to give them to if there's an interest. I like finding them -- just not too into cooking them.

As of Saturday, the Foodland in Marlinton had ramps for $1.99/lb.

The Marathon station / general store in Buckeye did have ramps, but said some guy came through and bought all they had.

Coming through Richwood this morning, the general store on Rt 39 West of town had a big "Fresh Ramps" sign out by the road.

We were raided! That ramp patch on the back side of the property...translanted from Belington years ago and watched carefully...now only a few stragglers left in a patch about 15' by 40'. Probably being sold by some scumbag bragging about finding them wild and all that.

I'm wondering if I should plant a land mine or two...kill off the stragglers...or just thin out the remaining few plants and post a few signs.."Shooting Ramp Thieves on sight!

Seen during my recent trip to Pocahontas County...

A pizza place in Mill Creek has a big sign that says "YES!!! We have Ramp Pizza!".

Grandpa's Attic Deli (Rte 219, between Hillsboro and Buckeye) has ramp dip, for chips and nachos and such.
