Can anybody tell me anything about this highschool? This district looks awfully big - do you think it will be split up eventually? How is the community - we found some Centex home house in Matthews Grove that look very appealing. I read that the crime rate wasn't good at Butler, etc. Any information would be helpful. Thanks!

Personally I think all the good high schools in Charlotte are too large in population and Butler is no exception. With larger school populations come more issues of a disruptive nature. However, Butler is currently rated #3 academically in Charlotte. I have heard no talk of any new high schools for the Mint Hill/Matthews area.

I assume that that is probably number three under Providence and Ardrey Kell?

Actually, once the 2007 numbers are in I expect Butler will fall to #4 because prior to now Ardrey Kell did not exsist. Now that they have finished their first year I'm looking for them to be #2 or #3.

Low $300,000s. Like, low, low, low $300,000 - preferably less. I am having major issues on whether to live in Charmeck or Union County. Weddington was suggested to us, but it is even more lacking in diversity then Providence. Are the houses actually cheaper in Waxhaw/Weddington? I also have to keep in mind that my son is very athletic and go where there are developed programs - Ardrey Kell doesn't seem to have that. Sun Valley - well, I just have issues with even thinking of that place because the two girls I knew that went there were horrible people, so I'm kind of biased. I have written multiple kids at Providence and have had mixed reviews - the girls seem to love it and the guys don't think so much of it (ha, that rhymed). Myers Park - well, we all know that that's a great school, but the houses are older - we are hoping for something a little newer. And I'm not sure about the community make up - I would like to move somewhere with quite a bit of children. Where we live right now has barely any kids and I know that my son gets lonely. I have heard that Indian Trail is the place to be for families. I want it all, but I'm slowly figuring out that I can't have it. Especially not for $285,000.

How old is your son now and would you be interested in Catholic schools?
Both our middle and high schools have championship football teams. The high school also just won the ice hockey championship. The Lacrosse team made it all the way to the state playoffs. The golf team and cross country teams are excellent too.
