Hey y'all Crismark residents,

We're looking at Crismark as a move from far east Charlotte. We like the neighborhood so far -- people walking kids & dogs in the evening seem friendly. We've never lived anywhere with a HOA, either.

We notice a lot of cars are parked on the sides of the narrower "secondary" roads, sometimes on the sidewalks and grass. Does this seem to cause problems with congestion? I didn't see any mention of this in the HOA documents that I've been reviewing -- HOAs in other communities do comment on this (as in, "We'd prefer you didn't".) We've had a few situations in our neighborhood where emergency vehicles could not pass the cars on the sides of the street.

Has anyone noticed stereo racket? I work from home most of the time and can't stand listening to someone else's stereo or car thumper speakers. Makes it hard to sleep at night, too.

I'd like to install some raised beds in the back yard for a flower and herb garden. How hard is it to get that approved by the ARB? Or would that even need to go through the review board?

One more: What's the Time Warner high speed internet like in Crismark? I found a post from 2006 that said it was unreliable, but that's been a while.

Thanks!

some sections of Crismark seem to be more congested than others. The older sections, those near the Mill Grove entrance on the right as you come in before the pool. The driveways seem to be shorter, especially in the Westport section there, and thus it seems more street parking. Also, I believe there seem to be more teenagers which may add to the number of cars per household, making street parking necessary. As far as loud music, there hasn't been an issue near me, but that doesn't mean there aren't issues elsewhere. If you find a house you like (or a lot, if you plan to build), drive by at different times of day, after work, on the weekend etc and see what it looks like.
