I never really thought about it being a problem, but I have started paying attention.
Right near I-485 as you cross over I-77 (going towards Tryon exit) right there on the right, there is a huge thing of kudzu that covers a lightpole or something. One of our daughters said it reminded her of a huge dinosaur, and it did look like one!
All joking aside, what can be done about this? I could not imagine beingn a land owner right along the border of where this dinosaur kudzu is.. It IS truly everywhere.
I could use some goats to eat some poison ivy/oak too. We have a severe problem, and learned throught a CO-OP farmer friend, that goats eat those types of plants to the root, and kill it DEAD!! So I would guess that it would work on this kudzu stuff.

I know what you mean about dino-kudzu. I've got the same sort of thing behind me on the inaccessible city land. Then the neighbor on one side owns 2 duplex apartments on just over an acre & most of it is wooded & full of kudzu. I have to spray what comes onto me or it's kudzu-hell.
I'd love to borrow a goat or two, but it lieu of that, I spray & spray & spray. Eventually it will die for real, but with older, established vines, it can take two or 3 years,

LOL, Want a partner? When my kudzu got away from me, I started yanking it out & making wreaths to keep it contained for burning purposes, to minimize the spraying. I'm really fast at making kudzu wreaths.
