I'm moving into the new house on Sunday 8/1.
My family and belongings won't come until 8/18!

I'm basically bringing clothes, toiletries, and an air mattress.
No vacuum cleaner or anything like that.

I don't have a clue if the sellers will leave the house clean. Probably not as clean as I would want. I know they have a cat.

I start work 8/2. Obviously I'm not letting a stranger into the house while I'm gone so my only option would be to have someone clean the following Saturday or Sunday. I really want the house to get a good thorough cleaning to get us started in our new home.

Any recommendations? Feel free to PM me.

Do you really think somebody wants yr boxers and razor???

You can call any of the ads in the yellow pages. Most of them work Saturday but will charge you a weekend/holiday rate.

I know about Yellow Pages. We called a cleaning company once. The guy knocked a picture off the wall, shattered the glass, cut his hand and bled all over the carpet.

I was hoping for a personal recommendation from someone who has experience with a specific person or company.

If you are looking for registered companies with reviews, I like to search servicemagic.com or google maps and read the reviews on companies there. I have used servicemagic for a bunch of projects and their contractors have all been great and reviews are accurate.

Try Carolina Maids - we've worked with them and they do a good job. Carolinamaids.com I think - they advertise in the Sunday Observer

Thanks. I'll give Carolinamaids a call tomorrow.
Maybe I'll get lucky and the sellers had the house thoroughly cleaned on the way out. That's what we're doing when we leave our home here.

Guess I'll know when I get there. To my empty, empty house. LOL!
Maybe some neighbors will befriend me.

Seriously.
If you go with a bonded and insured service, there is no reason you can't leave them to do their work...uninterrupted.
