Is there someone here locally in Charlotte that during their job search has used a professional resume service, or a life coach to fine-tune their job seeking skills? My DH accepted a position that he is really underemployed but we needed the money. He really needs and wants a new position that uses his years of experience and earn atleast somewhere near his former salary. His age is definitely a factor, but he does look in his late 40s rather than his actual mid-50s.

He's had two interviews but neither job was a real fit for him and they went no-where. Now he is worried his cv is not where it needs to be and/or his interviewing skills are not sharp... Websites, personal experiences, dm recommendations would all be appreciated.

welcome to the world of age discrimination.....sad but true. It is a long tough road you
are on. What age he looks doesn't matter, they are looking at his work history and
pulling a background on him and finding out his true age, which is a factor.
Been there done that.

Susan Hewitt is very knowledgeable and reasonable in cost. Her office is located in
the Dilworth Area of Charlotte.

Yes, Chrome. You are exactly right. Age discrimination is actually illegal, but, very difficult to prove and harder to prosecute. The law needs some greater consequences in order for it to be effective.

To the OP: I hope that he finds something within his range soon.
