I was prepared to cheer the landlord on, but after reading the story I pretty much think everyone involved is a deadbeat. It's like they're trying to out-stupid each other.

Maybe they'll do us all a favor and eventually cancel each other out.

Lol, sounds about right. As far as this story goes, I guess if the landlord was more concerned with not being foreclosed then getting nasty because her tenants got smart then she wouldn't be in this mess.

Believe the law is on the tenants side.... landlord is not keeping up their end of the contract by paying the actual mortgage on the place with the incoming rent.... The tenant should be able to stay beyond the foreclosure if there is a signed lease.... and since banks really have no mechanism for collecting rent, they might be able to get a few months rent free there.

Yet another "victim" story. No wait a minute... we have not one but TWO victims in this story. Kudos to the media for broadcasting this trash.

Laugh while we can. This little incident will cost us at least 50 grand when its all said and done!

If you can't deal with people not paying their rent without resorting to spray painting your own house then perhaps you should not be in the rental game.

This was great article to read going into eviction court. There was at least 3 cases this morning of tenants not paying rent b/c they are being bombarded by foreclosure notices. While nobody likes a deadbeat tenant, I have to side with the tenant on these esp. when its obvious the owner is just skimming the rent and not paying the mortgage. Of course all the owners claim to be actively trying to modify their loan.
