Hey guys! I kinda just want to try great wings all around town and share the details on them. Post where's the best wings you've had and average cost. Charlotte,Fort Mill,Matthews..... plz don't say Raleigh, we're not driving 4 hours for wings, thanks!
I'll start with my top 3:
1. DD Pecker's in Pineville: BBQ wings and AWESOME HOME MADE RANCH!!!
2: Wild Wing Cafe in Ayrsley Town: BBQ wings with good ranch.
3: Hickory Tavern: Chargrilled BBQ wings ok ranch.
These are all 10-12 for around $9.00 to $12.00
Our favorite place for wings, Wizeguys in Ballantyne, closed. Hickory Tavern is ok, but way too expensive, IMO. We haven't found another place we love for wings, so I'll be checking this thread for sure.
p.s. After Wizeguys closed, we started making our own wings at home. They are actually pretty easy and WAY more inexpensive than restaurant wings. I can't believe what places charge for them. Even at HT you can get 20 fresh wings for $5.

It was where the Big Daddy's Burger Bar is now. They had great pizza too. We used to go there every Saturday afternoon to watch football and get wings and pizza. So sad!
Kristophers in Matthews are good. Very meaty wings and they are on special one day a week but I can't remember which one or what the price is. Wings at chain places usually suck, IMO. Especially BWW, the chickens that they pull the wings from must be emaciated or something.
Hands down, the best wings I've had in town are at Moosehead Tavern, near Park Road shopping center. Not much for ambiance, but the Uncle Donnies blackened wings are out of this world. Well worth the trip. they have other varieties as well. I believe its a dozen for $8 during lunch and it comes with a side.
Ed's Tavern in Dilworth are awesome... Picasso's on East Blvd are great too. As far as chains go I would agree that Buffalo Wild Wing's aren't all that, though I've always been a fan of the wings at Wild Wing. And Hooters are just flat out ACK to me! Never cared for their food period.
MACS Speed Shop!!!!!!!!
They are grilled, not fried. You won't find better flavor around unless you prefer those greasy fried ones...
Everyone I know that has tried them quickly agrees they are the best around/in town.
$5 for 6, $9.50 for a dozen.
Went this past Sunday and they were half-price!
I used to love the Wing Ranch where Ed's is now. Ed's are good, but not the same. I also like Yellow Rose on 51.
