to get a better idea of where we may want to live...I am very excited as is he (actually the kids are too)...I am hoping this all works out. My one question is in finding our currently sub up here, we were lead to the sub with people out and about...people walking, biking, kids hanging around, etc. Will he be able to see huge difference in subs there as we could here for this type of thing? The weather there is more conducive to being outside more often (meaning it's not winter for 8 months of the year).
In the past we did not work with a realtor because we picked the sub and built out house 16 years ago but the "atmosphere" stayed the same over the years. In other areas, the residents seem to stay more inside or whatever. Not that I need block parties etc, it's just nice to see people out and about doin thier own thing. I am hoping that is the case in more subdivisions down there than seems to be the case up here.
I would love for this to all work out...it's looks rather ideal for us at least as ideal as paper and the internet can bring to me.
I think you will definitely notice, especially if you drive through during the weekend or evening. If you know where the job is located and which area of Charlotte you are interested in living, we can give neighborhood suggestions for you. Good luck with everything!

If you'd tell us where your husband's job is, how much house you can afford, what grad elevels your kids are in, whether you want to be close in to the city or further out in the country, we can offer suggestions.
well we were focusing on Marvin Ridge or something equivalent...my children are in 6th grade and in 8th grade so middle school is important but so will high school be next year. So a school that leads to good colleges is what is the main part of school, for example where we are now many attend the University of Michigan which is rated well up in our area, but it also opens other options too. So equivalent from that perspective, Housing 300k-400k should be good.
We are looking for a feel where people are out and about, not "liking to be trapped inside". Our current neighborhood we picked do to the activity of people just taking walks nights etc, kids out biking, like a real neighborhood feel. We have several surrounding neighborhoods we ruled out years ago because it seemed like a "ghost town" not too many even just playing catch with their kids in their yard.
I can't remember the company name but they were big in the news for making the Lithium Polymer batteries etc..the president visited last year so in that area. But If I am correct that area is close to the Marvin Ridge Schools. Just not sure I want the kids to go through several redistricting options once there.
So if I had neighborhoods to focus on his one day with the realtor, he is stopping by the school to check it out, we could get a head start. We have some house in Hunters Oaks marked...looking for similar type feel..not really big on subs where the houses are "cookie cutter"
Anyway thanks...sorry for any confusion...earlier.
