I've heard some good things about Lincoln County but I'm a single woman who cannot afford a $200/300 home. Anyone know of decent areas? Thanks.

if you are seeing homes in that price range then you are probably just looking around Denver. Those homes was worth only half that about 2 years ago.
Most of the homes less than that are probably only 1000 sq ft homes and mobile homes.

Lincoln County has controlled growth and that is a very good thing beautiful rolling hills county.

You might want to look west of Boger City or High Shoals. Some gorgeous histtorical homes in downtown Lincolnton.

Have you looked into the Bluffs at Waterside Crossing? They are really nice townhomes in the 100s. Sailview also has nice townhomes. Our dental hygienist lives in there and she is a single, classy, great woman whose marriage recently fell victim to DEI racing.
