Nope.

Wouldn't even imagine leaving NY.

There are LOTs on the forum, I have a new neighborhood who moved from LI about 6 months ago. Everyone's well adjusted.

In terms of hard facts, NY,MA, and RI are the only three states in the union with negative population growth for the last several years. There all not necessarily coming south, but they are leaving the northeast.

The New York area is quite large

I think you should be more specific on where in NY you are leaving to where in NC you are going

Leaving NYC city to go to NC is very different that leaving LI (varies Nass vs. Suffolk) or upstate NY -

Also, what are YOU looking for?

From this forum and other research I have done and spking to people I know who are considering going or are there, no matter where you are coming from there is an adjustment period and how look it takes really is an individual thing.

Some people take a realtively short time to adjust while I have heard many say it took them a yr or two -

there is another forum where it is mostly NY/LI people who have moved or are considering moving to NC -
