Last time we were there we could not get anyone to sell us a Mac Book Pro - we talked to 4 people each one said they would be right back. We left and I bought online.
I won't go back.
Yes, last year when our son was looking at iPads and they were in really short supply we called the A store and the customer service was very poor.
I don't think they want more stores-part of their strategy, just like they kept ipad 1 in short supply and then bring out the 2 just over a year later.

The iPad 1 was announced in January of 2010 and started shipping in early April.
In a year over 15 million units were shipped.
If Apple could have produced more units, I assure you they would have.
No company purposely limits supply when demand is high, especially not in this economy.
The iPad 2 ships a year after the first version, not exactly uncharacteristic when it comes to technology.
Change is the only constant.
Son, it's April 2011. Go count the places that have closed in that mall and the places that have never been rented during this time. I stand by what I said.

yantosh22, Do we still have our agreement?
“According to a job listing and just-issued building permits, the future store will occupy space #280 on the second level of the mall.”
"Apple is considering opening a new retail store about 30 miles from the data center, in Charlotte’s Northlake Mall. According to reports, Apple has already applied for building permits and is looking to hire employees The location would be 16 miles from another Apple Store in South Park Mall and would become the fifth store in North Carolina."
New Apple Store will be closer
It will soon be easier for Gaston County folks to get to one of those uber-hip, brickand-mortar Apple Stores. Charlotte’s Northlake Mall will get the trendy computer and e-gadget retailer’s second Charlotte location. This one, scheduled to open late this year, is a 30-minute drive from Gastonia. It cuts at least 10 minutes, not to mention some of the headache, off the trip to SouthPark, which is now home to the region’s only Apple Store.
It’s the latest in Apple’s fling with the Tar Heel state. The company is building a data center nearby in Maiden in a bid to improve digital entertainment services. Basically, the center is a 500,000-square-foot server warehouse that will speed up Apple’s delivery of songs, TV episodes and movies from the online iTunes store.
The news about Charlotte’s new shop comes from the ifoAppleStore. com blog. That’s a website dedicated to nothing but Apple Stores.
So if you’re worried you aren’t cool enough to venture into the techie haven that is the Apple Store, remember there are people who populate entire websites with nothing but news about Apple Stores.

Wow, pretty cool. Wouldn't have expected Apple to land at Northlake, but good news nonetheless. Over time, Northlake quietly became my favorite (along with South Park) in Charlotte.
