$1400 for granite tops
$1800 for cabinetry
Tile was $12 sq ft
glass for shower was $1600

Demo also included removing the brick from the existing exterior wall, moving an existing ac unit, moving an electrical box etc... Also had to upgrade our HVAC to cover the new space and better condition the existing space..

The lowest price we received was around 60, then the other 3 were 65-70ish. They seemed to all be good contractors, but the guys we used had done a friends house, and they are really good at what they do, from customer service to actual product. And they were the lower of the 2 middle prices.
OK- so that makes it seem fairly good value with, to me anyway, pretty high end finishes, hardwood floor and this.

Def' makes our garage quote sound expensive!

Thanks for the name by the way- appreciated

I'm sure I could get something cheaper but I feel comfortable with the contractor and know his reputation and craftsmanship. I have never seen a bad remodel he has done and I know of at least 10 around my area. It also depends on the age of your house also. In my case I have an older home and the look and flow of this is very important to me. I am willing to pay a little more to someone if I know that they will maintain the integrity of the original look of my place. In my neighborhood I have seen many bad additions by fly by night contractors and to me it is not worth saving a little money over. I would rather use someone established and not deal with the headaches later. If the pricing is out of my budget I would rather just not do anything than to have a crummy looking addition.
I agree completely.
Helps to know the quality of fittings etc that Rampart had in his.
I can't justify $40,000 for a garage with a bonus area, knowing the comparison for a bed/bath addition with essentially the same sq ftage, all that demo' and fittings and fixtures for the bath.
