I think thats the case, yes. City limits of Matthews are within Meck Co. but some of the outer areas in Union Co. are considered Matthews when they really aren't.
It gets confusing at times, I have some coworkers who live out that way and their neighborhood spans across where Mint Hill, Matthews, and Charlotte converge. The entrance to the subdivision is in Charlotte so its all considered Charlotte though.

This is what I don't understand. I'm constantly told that we live in Matthews, we do in fact have a Matthews address, and we live in Union County. I know that one time I had to go to the post office on John Street in Matthews to pick up a package that was sent to me. So that post office is much farther away than the one in Indian Trail which is about a mile from our house. And we pay Union County taxes.

If you pay Union county taxes you live in Union county Your mailing address is still Matthews but your location is actually Indian Trail.

I have something weird like that too. I have a Davidson address and I live in Cabarrus County and my services (police, water)come from the city of Kannapolis. The police told me that was at the builders request. I'm not sure why.

My house is being built in Indian Trail, but we are going to have a Monroe address. Evidentally, the Indian Trail P.O. cannot handle all of the influx.
I wonder if this will ever be straightened out.
