I find most of the servers at Eddie's Place to be kind of rude. We used to go really frequently and were always met with indifference. We don't go anymore.
We went to Toast in Davidson today for the first time today after seeing several recommendation in this thread. Thanks again, Charlotte City Data!
Our breakfast was excellent, the biscuits tasted home made and the bacon was the good thick-sliced kind, not the thin cut like at Ihop. I think this is our new go-to "nicer" breakfast place for when a bit of a drive is worth it for something different than the local Ihop.
We used to go to Zada Janes in Plaza-Midwood, but the wait times (and lack of anyplace to stand/sit while you wait without being in the way) can be ridiculous. Plus, at least twice in the last year they've lost our order and we had to wait 1hr+ for food in addition to the 30+ minutes to be seated. Food was always great, but glad to have found Toast with equally good food and more reasonable wait times!
I also have to say that Stacks in Waxhaw is awesome!! Fresh, diverse menu at great prices! Don't be fooled by the low key outside. It is is clean and friendly and on the inside!!
I fourth Stacks in Waxhaw. When the line is to long we also hit the brunch at Rippingtons also in Waxhaw. Very good reasonably priced brunch.
