You HAVE TO GO TO THE RENAISSANCE FESTIVAL.

Carolina Renaissance Festival

Then, after you take them to the Festival...

1. Take them to The Diamond.
2. Panthers Game.
3. Lazy 5 Ranch, during October they have hay rides, pumpkin slingshot and a maze.
4. Scarowinds.
5. Take them to the Appalachian Mountains.

Did i mention Renaissa.... ok good.
Good point. All of those are Charlottey (?) attractions.

They're from New York City? First day, take them out for a pizza -- then you can just spend the other days listening to them tell you how it isn't as good as the pizza back home!

I would never take an out of town guest (especially from NYC) to the Ren Fest. Take the light rail uptown and take a walk around. Lots of great restaurants to have lunch or dinner to choose from. Show them the Victorian homes in 4th Ward.

What is you aversion to the Ren Fest? Other than being full of nerds, of course. It's not particularly unique to Charlotte.
