We are planning to move to Charlotte NC, Early may.. we will be going to April to visit and look at rentals and such. What is the best area? I've been there a few years ago and know the southwest area is nice. I have a 3 year old son as well and would like a family oriented/safe neighborhood. We are looking to spend around $800-1150. Any help will be appreciated.

We'll be able to give you more guidance if you help us understand some particulars about commute to work, where and how long is acceptable. Two good neighborhoods in the SW area include Berewick and Arysley, I am not as familiar with this area as I am with the northern part of Charlotte, but I suspect more information may be needed to help point you in the right direction. If you are looking for a single family home, you are probably going to be at the top of your budget for anything within 15 miles of Charlotte itself. Rentals go fast these days, and rents keep rising.
