The original Meadowview was exactly where the 485 interchange is on 74. It was in the V where Ridge road hit 74. It was never the same after they moved it.

Never been in Compare but man did it look like a pit from outside. Didn't notice that McDonald's was gone. I find it interesting that the article makes no mention of the fact that they likely aren't renewing their leases due to the construction that will soon be taking place around there.
I shopped there a few times. Great prices and quality on produce and some meat. Crazy high prices on a lot of other items.

I think it's gone for good. I ate there once for a retirement dinner, and the food was bleh. Very bleh.

I thought it looked different. That's a good question.
There is still a Compare Foods by Arrowwood Rd, right? I know the grocery store doesn't look like much from the outside, but it actually has a great diverse Hispanic selection (not just Mexican).

There's one on Sharon Amity, between Central and Albemarle.

Probably to "de-brand" it. With the brick and roof in that configuration, it's obvious that it's a McDonald's. Once they remove the obvious markings, no one is going to mistake it for an operating restaurant.
It is? The way I read in the comments below the story, (from this the writer) his colleague did a story, that MD's and Shell both on the demolition block. Like it will happen in the (near) future. SMH @ Observer.
I have to give credit to Google Maps. I just looked at their satellite view of the area and it looks to have been updated around November, given the state of semi-demolition of the carpet store at Sharon Amity.
