Drug/Addiction counselor in Charlotte or nearby (cheapest, best)

I am looking for a counselor, preferrably christian, that has first-hand personal experience with drugs and addiction. The person this is for would not be interested in any addicts anonymous type meetings or rehab therapy, its really for counseling in general from someone who really understands someone with an addictive personality and isn't just going to give him the same old lines.

I've googled this and had some results but I'm really hoping someone has a personal reference. Can anybody help?

If you're looking for a Christian counselor have you ever considered speaking to a Pastor of a church? This way it would be cheaper money and the principles of God would be discussed.

FWIW, a large number of drug addiction counselors have battled with some type of a drug addiction themselves. Therefore, most (if not all) will have "first-hand personal experience with drugs and addiction".

As for finding a Christian counselor, that probably isn't going to be an issue in a country that's 80% Christian. It's not like you're looking for a Buddhist counselor in a Christian country ya know? That said, I think going to a pastor might be your best (and cheapest) bet.
