Hello,

My boyfriend and I are moving to Charlotte at the end of the month (May 2012). We are looking for a place near restaurants and shops so we can decide if we want to ultimately stay in the city or move to the suburbs when we buy. We also would like an area where you get to know your neighbors some, not an apartment building where no one knows anyone.https://pics3.city-data.com/forum/ima...ilies/wink.gif

Here is our info.

Couple, no kids, 13 lb. dog
I work from home
He is a consultant, will be in Mooresville in June, but could be in uptown, or may end up flying out of the city Mon-Fri.
Looking for 2-3 Bedroom / 2 Bathroom
Price Range 1200-1700

We really like Plaza Midwood, Dilworth, Cotswold, and Elizabeth. Considered Davidson.. should we consider any other areas?

Also, are realtors used for rentals here? We have contacted a few but none seem too eager to assist. If anyone knows anywhere we can go this weekend to help us find a place that would be great. Thank youhttps://pics3.city-data.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.gif

The reason agents don't work rentals is there is no money in it for them. The ridiculous property management company often offers $100 dollars to fill that rental with a tenant. Not worth agents time at all. I know at Allen Tate uptown they charge $500 bucks.

We just moved back down from the DC area two weeks ago. We did use a realtor for securing a rental. If the one that DM you doesn't work out I will share the name of ours. He was great and found us a rental in 2 days in our preferred area.

Had a really difficult time finding a rental and worked with a great realtor if you need a name. One realtor can show you all listed rentals on MLS/Trulia. We ended up getting a rental through a connection.
