Where to sell scrap metal in Charlotte? (Tryon: prices, move)

I have about half a ton (guestimate) of metal I need to get rid of. Can anyone recommend a place? Is it even worth the time/effort, or should I just throw it away?

you can get about 11-13 cents per pound or more depending on what kind of steel. Stainless gets about 70-some-odd cents per pound, aluminum is about 55-65 cents per pound, copper is over $3/pound, bronze and brass get pretty good prices too.

I wouldn't throw it away, then we just have to mine more from the earth. If you don't want to mess with it, DM me... I'll come move it for you.

Or take it to wise recycling on Hwy 16.

Or Global Recycling on North Tryon Street. If all the dumpster divers go there, there must be something to it. There are also a couple places on Atando Avenue. One just recently opened or will be opening soon.
