Jeez, how could I have forgotten about Jacksonville? Ok, if you add in Jacksonville and what I'm hearing about Fayetteville, they probably equal The Block.

Charlotte is good at hiding the adult stuff but there is something of a red light district of massage parlors off Old Pineville Road at Woodlawn. [/QUOTE]

There's a pay-per-view porn company that used to have their offices in that area, but they moved their HQ several years ago a couple of miles away. They pretty much started the pay per minute model in the adult industry. I'm surprised they didn't mention in that in the article. I know they've given them press before.

Eh...the Block is kind of sleazy...but not all that smutty.

Oh yeah! <gives low dirty laugh>.

However I thought that Portland, OR (never been there) had the highest number od adult stores in the US - I read it someplace, forgotten where now.

I remember walking to a block a couple times when a friends band played at a dive bar in Baltimore. There was a food place that wasn't bad. It was fun getting asked to go into the places.

I have never seen more adult bookstore signs since I moved to the south. I would occasionally see some strip club signs in Southern Cal but nothing like the adult bookstores signs you get in the south.

I agree. This list is suspect. They have Wilmington, DE leading Raleigh & Charlotte. Wilmington??? Did they confuse Wilmington with Baltimore?

Wilmington should be on the list. Nothing to do but drink.
