What about it? It's just a part of Charlotte's metro, what else do you want to know?

Try to understand - Pineville is essentially Charlotte Like I said, it's one big metro, very spread out. So no, prices aren't much different in general.

There are a few places scattered around in some decent areas that I can send you links to that are close to your price range. But I'm betting that finding vacancies in them might be tough.

Because of this, I would highly recommend you make sure you can find an apt you can afford before you accept the job

Concord is going to be quite a trek to Monroe Rd for work...figure at least 45 min to an hour...(depending upon where in Concord)

And Concord isn't any cheaper to live in than Charlotte.

So nearly every post you make is saying Charlotte is as bad as Detroit and that you need a job to move here, but then you say you're going to move to Oklahoma without a job? You're advice isn't bad, but it's somewhat ironic that you're not even following it when looking to move somewhere else. As was pointed out in that thread, just because the unemployment is lower doesn't mean jobs are growing on trees.

I realize the economy is sluggish everywhere right now, but 4.4% metro unemployment rate is almost pre-recession. It seems like the land of milk and honey compared to what I am dealing with in Charlotte.

Right now, my plan is to move in September when my current apartment lease runs out unless I can find employment beforehand. Any tips for out of state job searching? If I put on my resume I will be moving at a specific date (i.e. September) or upon employment, will that put me in the running with local candidates?

Also, any suggestions on cheap apartments but in a safe area that I could get started in?

Thanks again for all the good info!

Maybe ironic, but the job hunt numbers are far more in his favor in OKC compared to here.
